We've both been interested in anime since watching Voltron in the 80s. We started collecting cels around 2001 when we were college roommates after Stephanie wanted to find a unique Christmas present for Jen and bought her a cel of Prince Diamond from Sailor Moon. From there things snowballed and 20+ years later, we're married, we still love anime and animation and we've got 100s of cels and have no plans to stop collecting.
Our philosophy on collecting is anything but simple, there are two of us and we often have vastly different taste in cels. We often focus on different genre's, different series, different characters, and different shot compositions. The only thing we always agree on is that we like beautiful cels. This approach to collecting makes for a very diverse yet very lovely gallery (or so we'd like to think anyway)
We're actively collecting, and always happy to purchase wishlist cels (or just nice cels from series we actively collect) so if you've got something we're looking for please reach out. Under normal circumstances we don't often sell or trade but, feel free to ask anyway. Though if a cel is marked ANFS it's highly unlikely we'll sell at any price. Jen loves cats, Sailor Moon, video games (her favorite console is the Sega Genesis), manga and (obviously) Pikachu. In addition to cels she collects dolls, figures and miniatures. She especially loves Sailor Moon dolls and Re-ment miniatures. In the warm months she loves to grow herbs and veggies, in spite of the constant assaults by local wildlife.
When she's not in the garden, playing video games, playing with the cats or taking photos of her miniatures, she works as an analyst and as the owner, data manager, and accountant for Avane Shop. She has a Masters degree in Data Analytics and makes spreadsheets for fun and profit.
Stephanie loves unicorns, octopuses, video games (her favorite game is A Link to The Past on the SNES), and shiny things. In addition to cels she collects figures, rocks, fossils and books she swears she's going to read one day. She spends her free time doing Lego sets, watching documentaries and gardening in the tiny sliver of time it's possible in Northern Minnesota.
She does the website design, photography, product descriptions, most of the customer service and order packing for Avane Shop. If she hadn't married Jen she'd be working to bring back the social respectability of the Victorian spinster.
